So… we were all voting no right? i say this because it hasn’t really seemed to move into yes’s favor at all. it’s at like 17%, really guys?
because the population of this stupid planet thinks it’s not possible. how is it not possible? Just let the kid pick what they want to be. :/

….Seriously, guys? Not only was this poll question worded badly in the first place, the vagueness seems to have collected a following of angry gender-defiant kids. Now anyone who knows me knows DAMN WELL that I don’t do traditional gender roles. I support the trans community, and I cross dress like it’s a fucking sport. But what exactly is being suggested here? We just pretend nobody is born male or female? Of course there are some gender roles that enable oppression, but that isn’t the case for every single quality. Females will always be more prone to certain activities, and males will be prone to others. Some people will deviate the norm, and that’s acceptable. Some people may even come to the conclusion that they were born into the wrong body - we can accept that too, and hope that their lives are healed. But we can’t pretend that everyone is born with absolutely no disposition toward certain behaviors due to sex, and that everyone is born with the mind of a transgender person.
Come on guys, grow up. Trans people go through constant confusion but it isn’t just because of gender roles, it’s because they don’t have the mind to fit in the body of their assigned sex. That doesn’t mean they dismiss gender altogether, they just switch to the other. If “boys and girls aren’t different”, then what are all of you gays and lesbians doing? If we’re all the same, then I’d like to personally accuse you all of prejudice because you aren’t bisexual.

Some gender rolls are quite ridiculous though, I’m a food cooking, cookie baking motherfucker, which my grandfather once told me made me girly. He also said i shouldn’t clean around the house and a bunch of other stuff because “that’s what women do.” I dunno, maybe it’s a step in the right direction to stop putting emphasis on gender, maybe it’s not. As a white male i basically have a “GET INTO AWESOME SHIT FREE” card.
I absolutely believe that traditional gender roles and stereotypes aren’t reasonable. I think people should absolutely be encouraged to pursue any hobby or interest they crave. It’s a great thing, women can have careers and dads can stay home with kids if they choose to. I just think the people posting on this were getting a little extreme. Gender differences will always exist, because estrogen and testosterone levels alone cause each sex to do certain things differently. The fact that people would want to go against the idea that “boys and girls are different” is ridiculous. We ARE different, and we should celebrate that. Enjoy the mannerisms and nuances that come with males and females.
